Defence and Aerospace E-Learning, Built to DSAT

Bespoke e-learning for defence contractors, aerospace operators and aviation training providers, designed to the Defence Systems Approach to Training and built to the standard your environment demands.

Operational Reality

Defence and aerospace organisations operate in environments where the margin for error is zero. Training that fails to reflect operational reality (generic scenarios, imprecise procedures, content built for a broad commercial audience) is not just ineffective. In a regulated, security-conscious environment, it is a liability. Capytech has delivered bespoke digital learning for defence contractors, aerospace operators, and aviation training providers for over 13 years, built to the precise operational and regulatory standards your organisation requires.

We understand the unique constraints of the defence and aerospace environment. We build content that reflects them.

The Training Challenges We Solve

TECH 01 / CHALLENGE

Complex technical content that generic tools can't handle

Standard e-learning authoring tools are built for commercial training. They struggle with the complexity of technical procedures, multi-stage operational sequences, and equipment-specific content. Capytech's modules are built from scratch, with no templates, no shortcuts.

SECURE 02 / CHALLENGE

Security and information handling requirements

Training content for defence environments must be developed with appropriate handling procedures. We work within your security requirements from the initial brief through to final delivery.

SCALE 03 / CHALLENGE

Distributed teams across multiple sites

Whether your workforce is based across UK sites, deployed internationally, or operating in remote locations, digital learning delivers consistent, trackable training without the logistical cost of classroom delivery.

AUDIT 04 / CHALLENGE

Regulatory deadlines & Audit-ready evidence

CAA requirements, MOD frameworks, and internal audit cycles create training deadlines that cannot be missed. Every module we deliver produces SCORM-compliant completion data and downloadable certificates, and is built to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

DSAT and JSP 822

Designed the Defence way, by people who have done it

Capytech UK is led by Jason Satterly, who served 24 years in the Royal Air Force as an Aircrew Fighter Controller and a qualified instructor trained in the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT). DSAT is the system JSP 822 requires for Defence learning, and it is how we design every defence module.

Analyse

Start from the role

What people must do, to what standard, and where the gap is. If you hold a training needs analysis, we build directly from it.

Design

Objectives first

Training objectives, assessment and activities designed together, so every screen maps to a performance you need.

Deliver

Realistic practice

SCORM or xAPI modules for your LMS, or a secure branded Capytech LMS, with scenarios that mirror your real procedures.

Assure

Evidence you can use

Completion, assessment and question-level data to support your validation, assurance and audit activity.

Modular Frameworks

What We Build for Defence & Aerospace

Engineering
01 / ENG

Technical Procedures & Equipment Operation

Step-by-step procedural training built around your actual systems and processes. Branching scenarios put learners through realistic operational sequences, including consequences for incorrect decisions, without the cost or risk of live environment practice.

Security Operations
02 / SEC

Security Awareness & Information Handling

Bespoke security training reflecting your organisation's specific classification requirements, information handling procedures, and reporting obligations. Not a generic cybersecurity course repurposed for defence, but content built specifically for your environment.

Aviation
03 / AVN

CAA-Compliant Drone & Aviation Training

We have delivered CAA-compliant digital training programmes for drone operators and aviation service providers. Interactive modules covering regulatory frameworks, operational procedures, and emergency response, fully auditable and deployable to any LMS.

UK Company, UK Accountability

Capytech UK Ltd is a UK-registered, Cyber Essentials certified company headquartered in Cambridge. Our LMS is hosted in the UK, and every project has a UK point of contact who understands UK regulatory frameworks and handling requirements.

Do you have experience working within defence security requirements? +

Yes. We have worked with defence contractors and are experienced in handling content that requires appropriate security considerations during development. We discuss your specific requirements at the outset of every project.

Can your modules be deployed to MOD or defence-specific LMS platforms? +

All our modules are published in standard SCORM and xAPI formats. We have successfully deployed to a wide range of LMS platforms used in defence environments. If you are using a specific platform, tell us and we will confirm compatibility before the project begins.

How do you handle technical accuracy for complex defence content? +

We work closely with your subject matter experts throughout the development process, typically through structured review sessions at storyboard stage and again at first-build stage.

Can you develop CAA-compliant training for drone operations? +

Yes. We have delivered CAA-compliant digital training for commercial drone operators, covering the A2 Certificate of Competency framework and operational compliance requirements.

Do you design to DSAT and JSP 822? +

Yes. Capytech UK is led by a former RAF instructor trained in the Defence Systems Approach to Training, and we design defence modules to DSAT as set out in JSP 822: analysis, design, delivery and assurance. If you already hold a training needs analysis or training objectives, we build directly from them.

Is Capytech UK Cyber Essentials certified? +

Yes. Capytech UK Ltd is Cyber Essentials certified, and our LMS is hosted in the UK on AWS in the London region with daily UK backups. We work within your security requirements from the initial brief through to final delivery.
